Built for the Way Hockey Is Actually Scored

Every feature exists because real scorekeeping demands it

Stop-Time Period Clock

Counts down from your configured period length and pauses on the whistle. Buzzer at 0:00. Adjustable with one tap.

Live Penalty Box

Per-team box shows active penalties counting down. Minors auto-expire on opposing power-play goals — exactly like the real rule.

Goals + Assists

Log scorer plus optional primary and secondary assists. Goal-type tagging picks itself based on the on-ice strength.

Shots on Goal

Tap to log shots per team per period. Saves derive automatically from shots minus goals.

iPhone-First Layout

Big thumb-reach buttons. Scoring, penalties, shots, faceoffs, hits, and blocks all reachable without two hands.

Works Offline

Once loaded, the scoreboard runs without a connection. Match state persists locally so a dropped signal doesn't drop the score.

A Hockey Score Keeper That Fits Every Game

From mites on a half-rink to college club to adult rec leagues

Hockey is harder to score on paper than almost any other sport. Goals come with up to two assists. Penalties stack up in the box and release the moment the other team scores. The clock stops on every whistle. Pen and paper miss half of it.

Our online hockey scoreboard handles all of it. Tap the score to open the four-step goal entry — scorer, primary assist, secondary assist, goal type. Tap penalty to start a live timer that counts down on the same clock the period uses. When you score on a power play, the earliest minor in the opposing box is released automatically. Want cloud sync so the parents in the stands can follow on their phones? Switch to the cloud scoreboard with one click.

2

Pick a Period Length

5

End of Period & Final

The buzzer fires at 0:00. Hit "End P" to advance. Match ends after the last period — or jumps to overtime/shootout if you configured them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to what coaches, refs, and parents ask us most

Does this hockey scoreboard track second assists?

Yes. Every goal can be logged with a primary and a secondary assist. Both are stored on the goal entry and shown in the event log and final boxscore.

Does the penalty box auto-release on a power-play goal?

Yes. When the team with the man advantage scores on a minor or double-minor, the earliest-expiring releasable penalty in the opponent's box is released automatically — exactly like the real rule. Coincidental penalties are exempt.

How are double-minors handled?

A double-minor is stored as two chained minors. A power-play goal during the first half ends only the first; the second remains and ticks down. A goal during the second half ends the entire double-minor.

What about majors and misconducts?

Majors run the full five minutes regardless of goals scored. Misconducts (10:00) are tracked but don't create a power play.

Do you handle coincidental penalties?

Yes. The penalty modal has a "Coincidental" toggle that requires picking the offender from each team. Both penalties are logged but neither side gets a power play.

What period lengths are supported?

20-min (NHL/NCAA), 17-min (HS), 15-min (Pee Wee), 12-min (Squirt/Mite), 10-min, and 8-min. Minor penalty length auto-adjusts per the USA Hockey rule.

Does the clock stop on whistles?

Yes. The clock counts down from the configured period length and pauses when you tap the pause button. The same clock signal ticks the penalty box timers.

Can I track shots on goal?

Yes. There's a shot button per team. Saves derive automatically from shots minus goals, so you don't need to log them separately.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once the page is loaded, the scoreboard runs without a connection. Match state saves to your device's local storage.

Is there a cloud version?

Yes. The cloud scoreboard syncs to your account and shares across devices, so parents in the stands can follow along on their phones.
