How does the shootout tracker decide who kicks next?

You pick the rule set when you start. FIFA/IFAB: only the players you select (the ones on the field at full time) kick, alternating, and nobody kicks twice until everyone has kicked. NCAA: designate up to 10 kickers from the roster and reorder them once everyone has gone. NFHS (high school): 5 kickers, and every sudden-victory round uses different players until the roster runs out. The tracker suggests the correct next kicker automatically — and you can always override it.

Are college (NCAA) penalty shootout rules different from FIFA?

Yes. In NCAA soccer any player on the game roster may kick (not just those on the field at the end), teams designate up to 10 kickers, the visiting team calls the coin toss, and the official result stays a tie — the shootout winner advances. The tracker labels the result accordingly when you pick the College preset.

What are the high school (NFHS) shootout rules?

Coaches select five kickers. If it's still level after five each, each sudden-victory round must use five different players from the earlier rounds until the roster is exhausted. The tracker enforces that rotation for you.

How do I record where the ball went?

Tap the spot on the goal graphic — top corner, low middle, wide left, over the bar, anywhere. The tracker stores the exact spot and the zone, then builds a placement map per kicker so you can see where each player likes to put their penalties.

When does a shootout end early?

As soon as one team can't catch up — for example 3-0 after three kicks each means the last two rounds are never taken. The tracker does that math live and calls the shootout the moment it's decided, including through sudden death.

What is practice mode for?

Training sessions. Pick any kicker, log as many penalties as you want in any order, and the tracker builds a per-player table — attempts, goals, conversion rate — plus a placement heat map for each player. Great for deciding your five before match day.

Does it work offline at the field?

Can I use my soccer team roster?
