Why Use Our Number Counter?

Precise counting with flexible controls

Count Any Number

Count up from zero or set a starting number. No limits on how high or low you can count.

Custom Step Values

Count by 1, 5, 10, 25, or set any custom step value. Perfect for batch counting and inventory.

Works on Any Device

Responsive design works on phones, tablets, and desktops. Large buttons for easy tapping.

Set Target Numbers

Counting to a specific number? Set a target and watch the progress ring track your approach.

Works Offline

Your numbers are saved locally. Count offline and your data persists between sessions.

Customizable

Change colors, names, and step values. Create multiple number counters for different tasks.

How It Works

Start counting numbers in seconds

1

Tap + or -

Use the plus button to count up and the minus button to count down. Each tap changes the number by your set step value.

2

Set Your Step Value

Open settings to change from +1 to +5, +10, +25, or any custom number. Great for batch counting.

3

Set a Target

Optional: set a target number and the progress ring will fill as you count toward your goal.

4

Done? Reset or Export

Reset the counter for a fresh start, or create an account to save history and export your data.

Why Not Just a Calculator or a Spreadsheet?

For keeping one running number, a purpose-built counter beats both — here is where each falls short.

A Calculator Forgets

A calculator clears the second you switch away, so you end up re-keying the running total every time. A number counter holds one value and keeps it between sessions — no retyping the figure you already had.

A Spreadsheet Is Overkill

A spreadsheet cell works, but tapping a phone keyboard to bump a number by one is slow and error-prone. Big plus and minus buttons change the value by your step in a single tap, no cursor required.

One Tap, Any Step

Set the step to how your numbers actually move — by 2, by 5, by 25 — and each press adds or subtracts that amount. It is the part of the count a calculator makes you do by hand every time.

See the Target, Not the Math

Set a target and a progress ring shows how close you are — no subtracting the current value from the goal in your head. Neither a calculator nor a plain spreadsheet cell gives you that at a glance.

What People Track With a Number Counter

One flexible tracker — set a start value, a step, and count up or down toward a target.

Scores & Points

Keep a running score for a card game, a quiz night, or a pickup match. Add points in the increments the game uses — by 1, by 2, or by 10 — and adjust down when someone loses a hand.

Inventory & Quantities

Count stock, supplies, or parts as you pull them off a shelf. Set the step to match how items come packed — count by 6 for a half-case or by 12 for a full one — and the total keeps up.

Day & Streak Counts

Track a day count for a project, a challenge, or a milestone. Start from any number, tap once a day, and the count is still there next time you open the page.

Measurements & Readings

Log a running number from a meter, a gauge, or a survey. Set a custom step for the unit you read in and nudge the value up or down without retyping the whole figure.

Countdowns to a Target

Set a starting number and count down toward zero, or set a target and count up to it. The progress ring fills as you go, so you can see how far you have left at a glance.

A Running Total

Keep a live tally without opening a calculator or a spreadsheet. Add and subtract as you go, and the number holds its place between sessions instead of clearing when you switch apps.

Number Counter Questions

How the custom step, start value, target, and saving all work.

Can I count by a number other than 1?

Yes. Open settings and set the step to any value — count by 2, 5, 10, 25, or a custom number. Every tap on plus or minus changes the total by that step, so you can add a full case or a full round of points in one press.

How do I set a starting value?

You do not have to begin at zero. Set a start value in settings and the counter opens on that number — handy when you are picking up a count that already had a total, or counting down from a known figure.

Can it count down as well as up?

Yes. The minus button counts down by the same step you set for counting up. Set a start value and count down toward zero for a countdown, or count down from a target when you are working through a fixed quantity.

Does it go below zero into negative numbers?

It can. Keep tapping minus past zero and the count continues into negative numbers, which is useful for scores that can drop below zero or for tracking a value that swings either side of a baseline.

Can I set a target number?

Yes. Set a target in settings and a progress ring fills as the count moves toward it, so you can see how close you are without doing the subtraction in your head. The target is optional — leave it off and the counter just tracks the raw number.

How is this different from a calculator?

A calculator forgets the moment you close it and expects you to key in the running total each time. A number counter holds one value, changes it by a fixed step with a single tap, and keeps that value between sessions — closer to a spreadsheet cell you can bump with big buttons than to a fresh sum every time.

Does the number save if I close the tab?

Yes. The current value is saved to your browser automatically, so closing the tab or locking your phone does not reset it — the number is right where you left it when you come back. Create an account to sync counters across devices and keep a history.

Can I run more than one number counter?

Yes. Open the multi-counter view to run several number counters side by side, each with its own name, color, start value, and step — one for each score, SKU, or reading you are tracking.
